F1 race stars wii u download4/11/2023 The game does take an FPS hit when played on separate screens, but the convenience is worth it. I understand that it affects performance, but playing on half of a gamepad screen at a higher FPS is not a good trade off. MK8 cannot do this, which was very disappointing for me. The biggest for me was Off-TV multiplayer with player 2 having a dedicated screen (gamepad or TV). To be honest, I ended playing Sonic All-Stars more than MK8 for a few reasons. The controls aren't quite as tight and the overall game doesn't have the same polish that MK8 does, but it's a solid game in it's own right. On the surface, it looks sort of like any other knock-off / imitator cheap kart game, but it's actually very good. Never played any of the F1 kart games, but if you're looking for an alternative to the Mario Kart formula and gameplay, I would highly recommend Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. Watch some other reviews maybe, but it's pretty middle of the road. I don't think anyone else would either, it had no sequel, no dlc, it just just sort of put out there, and everyone forgot about it after a week or two. Are any of these more than imitators? The sonic one seems to be the best received of the bunch, but even then, why bother when you can get the best kart racer in years on Wii U? I don't recommend f1 race stars then, particularly not for a Wii U, when better games are available. We see these Mario kart imitators semi regularly, modnation racers, that wasn't great, little big planet karting, which looked like a reskinned modnation 2, sonic all stars racing transformed. It's not a terrible game, it just feels like a cash in imitation, and why bother when the real thing, Mario kart 8, is the best the series has been in several games. Particularly the fact that you have to show down for corners and pick up boost, it feels at odds with what a kart racer is all about, the drifting through corners in Mario kart does a great job of maintaining speed and providing boost, and the items are much more exciting, rather than the generic harmless 'bubbles' you'll be shooting at everyone in Race Stars. It just didn't hold my attention for more than a few races. It's bland, the weapons aren't very good and the tracks only somewhat resemble the real world counterparts, which is quite good, but end up being at odds with the semi realistic attempts at racing vs karting. I'm a fan of F1 and kart games, so if anyone would have liked it I would have, but it just felt like an imitation.
